What is the Gala de Oro? The Gala de Oro is the Latino Community Association's largest annual fundraiser. The gala celebrates Latino Cultures and is structured as a plated dinner and dance with a live band. The event will have a live auction, raffle ticket sales, and paddle raise to help us reach out goal of $105,000. Volunteers are so important to making this event a success - thank you for supporting with this event!
Fantastic volunteers needed to help with the Live Auction during the Gala de Oro! The live auction is one of the ways we raise money for LCA at the Gala. Volunteers will track guests' bidder numbers during the live auction so their donations will be tracked for processing later. Training in DonorView, the event software, is required before the event. You will receive more details about the training prior to the Gala.
Tasks include:
-
Being stationed around the dinner room with clipboards and auction bid sheets
-
Listen to the auctioneer call out bidder numbers for auction packages
-
Write down bidder numbers as guests raise their paddles
-
Quick and accurate listening and writing skills (in English) a requirement
-
Circle winning bid at the bottom of the page
-
Give winner certificate for their auction item and inform them where to pick up their prize at the end of the evening
-
Compare final bids with other volunteers to make sure final bidder is the winner
-
Process final bid in DonorView
*The live auction is held during the dinner presentation. Volunteers will be asked to answer questions about the live auction prior to the dinner, and may be asked to help with additional tasks like greeting guests as they arrive.
