Opportunities From: Latino Community Association

We are looking for volunteers in Bend, Redmond, Madras and Prineville who are committed to helping individuals prepare for the naturalization process by providing essential information about U.S. history, government and the application process itself.

Our Citizenship classes are designed to guide aspiring citizens through the process, covering everything from application details to preparing for the civics test and interview. 

As an instructor or assistant, you will be trained and given the materials needed to lead each class.

Class times are yet to be determined.

Buscamos voluntarios en Bend, Redmond, Madras and Prineville que estén comprometidos a ayudar a las personas a prepararse para el proceso de naturalización brindándoles información esencial sobre la historia de los EE. UU., el gobierno y el proceso de solicitud en sí.

Nuestras clases de ciudadanía están diseñadas para guiar a los aspirantes a ciudadanos a través del proceso, cubriendo todo, desde los detalles de la solicitud hasta la preparación para el examen y la entrevista de educación cívica. 

Como instructor, recibirás capacitación y se te entregarán los materiales necesarios para dirigir cada clase.

Los horarios de las clases aún están por determinar.

Requisitos:

We are seeking committed, self-motivated individuals to join our board of directors. We ask that board members be willing to serve for a minimum of three years. Our board members help provide overall direction for the organization, prioritize our services and make policy decisions about significant changes to our direction and focus. You are asked to utilize your social and professional networks to make people aware of LCA's work and how they can get involved to support our mission through volunteering, partnering and/or donating.  Finally, board members keep an eye on our finances and make sure we have the resources we need to carry out our plans and reach our service goals all within the laws that govern our work.

Our board currently meets a minimum of four times a year. Board members are asked to support one of our committees in between board meetings. Our committees include: Governance, Finance, Fundraising, Events and Advocacy.

The time commitment is typically 5-6 hours each quarter, or 2-3 hours per month. There is nor set amount our board members are asked to donate to the organization, but we do ask every board member to make a financial contribution that is meaningful to him or her.

We are in need of Citizenship tutors in Bend and Redmond for our students who have just started taking LCA's Citizenship classes in Bend. 

Bilingual people (English-Spanish) sometimes preferred, but not necessary. The time commitment is 1 - 2 hours per week and you can set a day and time that works best for you and our students. You are welcome to use our office or select another location to meet.

Training and study materials provided.

Training includes:

Do you enjoy connecting with people, writing heartfelt messages, and getting creative with content? We’re looking for a volunteer to support our Development Program Manager with a variety of ongoing projects that help us thank donors and share our mission with the community.

Volunteer tasks may include:


- Writing thank-you cards to donors


- Calling donors to express appreciation


- Creating content for social media platforms (skills in Canva are a plus!)


- Assisting with fundraising events


- Supporting general program marketing efforts

Schedule & Details:


- Flexible weekday hours between 10 AM – 5 PM


- Location: Bend office, with some virtual opportunities on select weeks


- Commitment: Once a week or every other week, for at least 2 hours per shift

This is a great opportunity to build communication and marketing skills, connect with our team, and make a meaningful impact behind the scenes.

You can make a HUGE difference helping someone learn the basics and build confidence to continue learning.

Tutor beginning and intermediate students to learn how to use basic computer programs and software.

May also be asked to offer tech support during the English Classes to students using Zoom.

1 or 2 days a week for 1-2 hours per week

We provide materials, laptops and a workspace.

LCA is establishing a Rapid Response Network (RRN) of trained volunteers to monitor and respond to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity in Central Oregon. Volunteers will provide real-time information, support impacted community members, and mobilize in protest when necessary. Please sign up for this opportunity so we can begin creating an interest list - we will be in touch with more information soon.

The Latino Community Association (LCA) Tax Program provides free tax preparation services to low-income, working families and individuals in Central Oregon. As a Tax Program Intake Intern, you will support the LCA Tax Program by assisting with document collection, scanning, and filing. You’ll educate clients on the required documents for tax preparation and communicate with them when their taxes are ready for pick-up. This position is ideal for someone interested in developing client service and administrative skills while making a meaningful impact in the community.

This position requires in-person training on January 23, 2026 from 9:00 am- 12:00 pm in our Bend office.  In this training, you will learn the procedures for document collection, scanning, and filing. You will also receive an overview of client confidentiality protocols and client communication best practices.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Help empower your community while gaining valuable skills! The Latino Community Association (LCA) Tax Program provides free tax preparation services to low-income, working families and individuals in Central Oregon. As a Tax Preparer Intern, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering free tax preparation services using IRS-provided software from January through April 2026. Under the supervision of the Client Services Managers and Coordinators, you will directly support taxpayers from low-income and limited English proficiency communities.

This position requires in-person tax preparation training. Training will begin on January 5, 2026, preparing interns to pass the IRS volunteer certification exams. These exams ensure interns are equipped to prepare basic tax returns and maintain client confidentiality. Once certified, interns will set a work schedule for the tax season (January - April 2026).

Responsibilities and Duties:
