We’re looking for amazing volunteers to help with childcare every Thursday from 5:45–8:15 pm, from April 16 to June 18 at our Bend office.

If you love spending time with kids and want to lend a helping hand, we’d love to have you join us! We will provide activities and snacks for children. Your time and energy make such a difference — giving parents the chance to attend English classes.

This committee will help expand fundraising efforts, build relationships with donors, and secure
financial support for LCA. Each role has defined responsibilities to ensure effective
collaboration. LCA Executive Director, Catalina Sanchez Frank, will support this committee as
needed.

Currently, we are looking for volunteers interested in the following Committee Member Roles

Sponsorship Lead
● Identifies, researches, and reaches out to potential business sponsors.
● Assists in drafting sponsorship materials and proposals.
● Helps secure sponsorships for LCA events.
● Ensures proper recognition and follow-up with sponsors.


Major Donor Engagement Lead
● Researches and helps cultivate relationships with major donors ($1,000+).
● Assists in organizing donor meetings, appreciation events, and outreach.
● Works with the Development Manager to send personalized donor thank-yous and
updates.


Amigos Membership Lead
● Support LCA Leadership in the recruitment of 2,500 individuals to donate $25 monthly in
celebration of LCA’s 25th anniversary
● Promote and grow the Amigos Membership program
● Alongside Sponsorship Lead, develop strategies to increase business sponsorships and
engagement
● Help cultivate relationships with donors and sponsors to strengthen long-term support

Events Lead
● Plans and coordinates donor appreciation events and fundraising events.
● Works with the Sponsorship Lead to secure event sponsors.
● Helps with event logistics, invitations, and follow-up.

Marketing Lead
● Develop marketing materials for elements of LCA fundraising efforts - sponsorship
applications, Amigos Membership applications, info packets about LCA programs,
Year-End Impact Reports.
● Supports the promotion of fundraising campaigns in, collaboration with LCA
Communications Team, through social media, newsletters, and community outreach.
● Works with the LCA Leadership Team to ensure consistent messaging.

Grant Support
● Assists the Development Manager in researching potential grant opportunities.
● Helps draft portions of grant proposals, particularly in areas of need identification.

General Fundraising Committee Members
● Support various fundraising activities as needed.
● Assist with outreach, event setup, and donor stewardship.
● Participate in donor calls, thank-you letter writing, and fundraising campaigns.

Our board currently meets a minimum of four times a year. Board members are asked to support one of our committees in between board meetings. Our committees include: Governance, Finance, Fundraising, Events and Advocacy.

The time commitment is typically 5-6 hours each quarter, or 2-3 hours per month. There is nor set amount our board members are asked to donate to the organization, but we do ask every board member to make a financial contribution that is meaningful to him or her.

Are interested in donating their time in order to help LCA clients learn and in the classroom setting.Who understand our mission and vision and align with both (read it here).Have the ability to be trained/coached to strive for a shared understanding on what concepts work, what techniques are proven, and how to best meet clients where they are in their journey to learning English.Are open to collaboration and critique.Have a schedule that permits at least 1.5-3 hours a week of dedication to teaching a specific class (depending on what is decided upon by the volunteer and the Workforce Education Coordinator) and for at least 10 weeks at a time (the usual length of a semester).Depending upon the level being taught, teachers need at least a general understanding of the Spanish Language (for advanced students) and are preferably bilingual (for beginner level students).Can be flexible in resources available, location of the class, and understand that we are a non-profit organization whereas resources are not as abundant as our counterparts in adult education institutions).No prior experience required.Have fun teaching their own class.

Classes typically take place once or twice per week for 1.5-3 hrs, depending on instructors' availability and are usually 10 weeks long during the school year.
